Cannabis and Emotional Distress
It is no secret that the most elementary neurological wiring in our brains is connected to the monitoring of basic biological system requirements – which means that when our body’s basic needs are met, our body’s systems work much more effectively. We have legitimate needs for closeness, affection, appreciation, community, love, trust, understanding and warmth that we often live without, and this is stressful in ways that are hard to calculate.
Symptoms
People respond in different ways to trauma and overwhelming situations and may experience physical or emotional reactions, including:
•anxiety •changes in eating patterns •feeling sad or Helpless •forgetfulness •changes in social behaviour • lack of energy •compulsive/obsessive behaviours •insomnia/sleep disturbance •difficulty concentrating •unexplained physical symptoms •difficulty managing anger •weight loss/gain
Emotions are like energies we feel. Like a way of feeling our thoughts. They reflect the quality of our thoughts, actions and even non-actions.
Smoking cannabis offers small changes in conciousness, and this nature of change can work to smooth and even heal our hurt feelings.
Cannabinoid medicine is the perfect medicine for stress and emotional upset for this exact reason. And cannabis is perfect for all levels of stress and trauma, pain and anguish, both physical and emotional.
Every person, at some time or other, undergoes painful life experiences. Pain and suffering are universal human constants. How we relate internally to our own personal suffering and the suffering of others shed’s light on the basic foundations of our personalities.
The fact that most of this anguish can be relieved with a single plants multitude of compounds is a blessing and a gift.
One day I hope all people will be able to access affordable and quality cannabis with ease.
‘Life is a comedy for those who “think” and a tragedy for those who feel. – Horace Walpole
